Waited a whole 35 minutes for the ramen. It was good thick tonkotsu soup with three bites of noodles and a whole lot of onions, a piece of pork and half of a boiled egg. It was alright. I also got a side salad, that was alright too.
Writing the 6,000,000th “i won’t eat here again until they change this new gross vegan ramen” review
Local “Japanese soul food” restaurant serving rich, delicious ramen.
. : Food (5/5 Stars): Some of the best ramen in Austin! We ordered the KOROKKAAAYYY to start – a crispy croquette served with a tasty side of the house katsu sauce. For our main dishes we got the MI-SO-HOT and THE OG Ramen – both very different flavors but super creamy, rich, and delicious. They have flavor “bombs” that you can add to your ramen as well – I got the Corn Bomb with my OG and the combination was great!
. : Drink (4/5 Stars): Small bar at the front of the restaurant offering specialty drinks, sake, wine, and beer.
. : Service (4/5): Super fast (our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering!)
Absolutely 10/10 for places to eat Ramen! Just writing this review is making my mouth watery lol. Fantastic vibes, great customer service.. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
limited pescatarian fare i mean do you have to cook your eggs in pork fat?
vegan broth is way too salty
hate the thin noodles
service was fast
atmosphere when sitting near kitchen is confused by two different music selections
This place used to be my ultimate favorite, until they pulled Tsukemen (dipping ramen) off of the menu. My friends were all equally disappointed, hoping this is temporary, only. My fallback ramen is Mi-so-hot, soup base is dense and flavorful, downside is the noodle texture, too thin and soggy.
I walked in to this order at the counter at the counters fast fare ramen joint before my flight out of the Austin airport and was not disappointed. Service was incredibly fast, like literally lightning speed. My boyfriend and I sat down and waited maybe 5 minutes or less to already get our food!
I ordered the sho-yu tonkotsu ramen and it came with chashu pork, soft boiled egg, kenna, scallion, nori, and pepper. Very tasty broth and impressive egg. I wish that they had included more nori, but I did think that the broth was quite rich. Pretty good!
Then, we ordered the matcha ice cream sandwich and the yuzu ice cream sandwich, which was less remarkable. I felt as though the cookie was too crumbly and got everyone, and it was rather bland. Probably could’ve done without, but I have a sweet tooth.
Overall, filling meal! The interior was pretty traditional to a ramen shop and it was a nice lowkey ramen joint.
The dumplings and Karaage was delicious. The vibe was nice as well. We will be back to try other items on the menu.
First time trying Ramen Tatsu-Ya as I’ve had good success with the other tatsu-ya’s and this one was no different.
Waited in line for a few minutes when we got there, ordered some drinks at the bar while we waited, paid at the counter, and found open seating. Pretty smooth setup.
Started off with the Edamame, Kathy sliders, and chicken karrage. All were delicious and served very fast.
As for the ramen itself, I highly recommend getting the flavor bombs to go with them. The dipping ramen (Tsukemen) was interesting, flavor bomb definitely gave it a boost. Definitely enjoyed the anime references on the menu as well, had a drink called the melon ball z that I will for sure order next time I go. Fun little spot for ramen.
Amazing amazing service I can’t thank these folks enough for being so accommodating. We put in a pick up order not realizing the long wait time to do pick up, and we’re hoping to receive our order and head out to catch our flight. We waited in the dine-in line to speak with the hostess and see if we should just cancel our order but they went to the back to push our order forward and she walked out with our food within the next 5 minutes! We wish we had enough time to eat in, the ambiance was fun and gave you the authentic ramen shop vibe. The sweet hostess even threw in a complimentary Matcha Ice Cream Sando since it was our first time visiting and trying the restaurant. Delicious food, great quality and portion sizes. I’d come back if I ever visit Austin again 100%! Fan for life.
