This doesn’t look like much on the outside but it’s a decent place to go! I really enjoyed the Katsu Curry and the Katsu Sando, they’re spicier than you think! But the flavor was great and I would absolutely come back to enjoy more Korean inspired food. The inside isn’t something super special and pretty plain. It’s counter service but has a lot of seating. The decor though, is lackluster and could use a bit more personality.
Cute place, service was fast, and most importantly the food was perfect. I don’t know how they get chicken to be that good.
Can’t get enough of this place. I swear the Hire Katsu is better every time I go. Every time I take a co-worker they have another devotee. The cabbage is sliced so thinly it makes me tired just thinking about it. I love that it is a small family run place as well.
Possibly the best chicken nugs in all of Michigan! Swing by if you’re in the grand rapids area. Furniture and chicken, what’s not to love?
4.5 Some high-quality chicken katsu right here! I get it with the spicy mustard and it’s just perfect. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Even though they’re busy in the kitchen, they always come out to check on customers. The space is clean with lots of light (though it could use a paint color, a cushion or a plant or something), but I could literally eat here every day. The one drawback? Prices. $18 for katsu and $5 for a matcha soft serve (HIGHLY recommend) makes for one of the more pricey lunches in Grand Rapids. It’s not financially accessible to everyone, which I wish it was. But I also love supporting local businesses, so I can’t eat here every day – but will do so as often as I possibly can!
Tried the rice curry, quality meal!! Don’t have a photo but everything on the menu sounded good so I will be back for more!!!
This place is an absolute dream. I don’t even know how to begin to describe it, other than that the chefs seem to have uncovered a magical way to find the perfect balance between a mildly salty and savory flavor with each bite of their Chicken Katsu Sando. Enjoy your meal there or take it to go, there is no wrong way to enjoy it.
Really good food quality and quiet environment. Price is little bit higher than expected. But food is really good.
First time in and struggled to know what to order. Went with the Hire Katsu and it was very good. Had a sample of the tacos and those were excellent as well. Nice looking place, hard to notice if you were just driving by. Love the lighting and the menu boards.
Delicious kim bop wrap and my husband loves their curry. Service is friendly . Food is consistently good. Nice dining area for a Sunday date night since a lot of places are closed on Sunday. Definitely recommend this place!
